Brendan Perlini was meant to be part of the Arizona Coyotes’ renaissance.
Then he was more or less labeled a bust.
Now he’s the leading goal-scorer in the American Hockey League.
Channeling Kirk Cousins, I bet Perlini would love to phone up former GM Don Maloney and current GM John Chayka and say, “How you like me now?!”
He’s got 11 goals in 13 games played. He leads the team with 16 points scored, which is also 12th in the entire AHL.
The question now is more of “when” not “if” the youngster will get at least a one or two game audition in Glendale.
