BUFFALO – Had the Coyotes not tripped into an early three-goal hole, setting up a blowout loss to the Red Wings Thursday in Detroit, backup Anders Lindback might have been between the pipes Friday to complete a back-to-back against his former teammates.
But since Lindback performed mop-up duty for much of that 5-1 loss, the Coyotes instead called on No. 1 Mike Smith to tackle the Sabres.
“You have to just be ready and try to take things for what they are,” Lindback said. “Kind of cliche but just when you get opportunity, try to go out there and perform.
