With roster down to 53, Kliff Kingsbury, Cardinals begin preparations for Detroit Lions

Running back D.J. Foster said there was a palatable change in energy at practice. With a thinner roster, it was quieter, but there was a different buzz.

"It's always an interesting day," he said. "But it's cool to get out there, I think everyone has that mindset, like it's go time. It's game week. It's a different demeanor, a different tension in the air."

Monday was the first practice of Week 1 of the regular season for the Cardinals, and the first practice since the roster was cut to 53.

Among notable changes, the team is now down to two tight ends with the release of Ricky Seals-Jones.
