It was a rather innocuous comment from Larry Fitzgerald when the Cardinals receiver met with reporters for the first time back in training camp. Somebody asked the future Hall of Famer about his new head coach, Steve Wilks, and what makes him different from the three coaches he’s played under in Arizona.
Simple, Fitzgerald said. It’s not just Wilks’ suave football etiquette and his innate attention to detail. It’s also really his cool demeanor and approachability, like when the first-year NFL head coach made it clear early on in camp that he’s there for everyone.
