They are hurt before they even got going. Well, for six Arizona Cardinals, it really was just a formality for them being placed on the PUP list on Saturday ahead of camp opening this week in Glendale at State Farm Stadium.
Among the players that will not be ready come Thursday are defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche, tight end Charles Clay, and cornerback Brandon Williams. Nkemdiche also had an off-field issue arise in June with an arrest but is still coming back from his 2018 season ending injury.
Clay was signed in the offseason and is expected to challenge for the starting tight end spot.
