The NFL reached a settlement with Colin Kaepernick and Eric Reid on their collusion complaint on Friday, but it’s impossible to tell definitively which side won.
That’s because the final score likely will remain their little secret. There is a confidentiality agreement that prevents details from being released.
Where is the fun in that?
My guess is the NFL capitulated because it feared the damage that would be inflicted if communications such as texts and e-mails between owners and other executives were revealed.
What’s odd is the NFL usually sees these kinds of matters through to the final whistle, as it did with the Patriots, quarterback Tom Brady and the case of the deflated footballs.
