At one point in a 51-minute Zoom press conference last Thursday, Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson described how opponents game plan for him by using picks, rubs, screens, mesh routes and cut splits.
Anything to throw him off, to make him work. It’s not easy, Peterson said, to navigate all that traffic.
It sounded a lot like being a fan of Peterson’s, or covering him as a member of the media.
That, too, requires persistence, the willingness to dodge a lot of traffic and the ability to keep your head on a swivel.
That was especially true the last two years.
