DeAndre Hopkins' success all starts with the hands; Cardinals are ready to pay big to keep them around

Larry Fitzgerald once told The Republic he’s never considered insuring his hands through Lloyd’s of London. His newest Cardinals’ teammate, fellow wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, doesn’t need to, either.

Instead of having to self-invest to protect his own greatest assets, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport first reported Monday that Hopkins was on the verge of inking a massive new contract extension with the Cardinals. He tweeted an update Tuesday morning reporting the deal will make Hopkins the highest paid non-quarterback ever, with a 2-year contract extension worth $54.5 million in new money, or $27.25 million per year.
