Cardinals LB Josh Bynes taking on leadership role while sidelined with injury

While he waits to fully return from a neck injury, linebacker Josh Bynes is trying to dole out game advice to teammates on the sideline.

The role is natural for Bynes, who at one point was all set to become an academic adviser at Kaplan University. He entered the league in 2011 as an undrafted rookie free agent. Then, he bounced between the Ravens' practice squad and active roster to the point where he began to explore options outside of football, including a job with the online university.

"The same day, literally, after I got home from the (Kaplan) interview, (Ravens General Manager) Ozzie (Newsome) called me," Bynes said earlier this month.
