Isaiah Simmons promised any NFL team that would listen they’d be getting a lot of bang for their buck if they were wise enough to draft him Thursday night.
“You only get 53 on a roster,” the versatile, do-it-all defender from Clemson told the NFL Network. “I feel like if you draft me, you get 56.”
If that’s true, the Cardinals just got three extra players for the price of one with the No.8 overall pick in the first round. In drafting Simmons, they acquired a fast, physical dynamo who could start at weakside inside linebacker, move back to safety, move back up as a pass rusher off the edge and never come off the field.
