Arizona Cardinals release Cory Redding, save $3 million in cap space

The Arizona Cardinals made a move that was a long time coming. On the first day of offseason workouts, the team announced the release of veteran defensive tackle Cory Redding. He played in 12 games last season with the Cardinals and had 10 tackles, one interception and two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a touchdown. He was placed on injured reserve on January 12 with an ankle injury. The 35-year old Redding signed with the Cardinals as a free agent on March 11, 2015.

He was due to make $3 million and was going to count $4 million against the salary cap.
