DENVER – There was still a minute and change left to go in the Cardinals’ 20-7 preseason loss here Thursday night to the Broncos at Mile High as star cornerback Patrick Peterson, dressed all in black, began walking his way off the field toward the visitor’s locker room.
He stopped near the tunnel to sign an autograph for a small child in the stands wearing his No. 21 jersey, and in a matter of moments, disappeared behind closed doors.
In another 48 hours, Peterson will disappear for six long weeks.
