In 2014, four players made the Arizona Cardinals roster as tryout players in rookie mini-camp. This year the Cardinals have signed at least two tryout players. One is a quarterback.
Head coach Bruce Arians said he was impressed enough with Phillip Sims and Taylor Kelly that the team might add one of them to be an arm in OTAs to throw to the rookies in the afternoon. According to Draft Diamonds, Sims is now on the team, having signed a contract after rookie camp.
Sims bounced around in college, attending Alabama, Virginia and Winston-Salem State.
