It’s a number that’s somewhat contrived and yet every single bit as real and important as the fact that the Cardinals are the only team in the NFL that ranks among the league’s top five in both total offense (No. 1) and total defense (No. 3).
It’s the streaking team’s consecutive sellout streak at University of Phoenix Stadium, which will reach 100 in a row on Sunday night when the Cardinals (7-2) host the Bengals (8-1) in their second straight prime-time appearance on NBC.
Even though the “streak” includes preseason games and is based on the premise of “all tickets sold” when there clearly are pockets of empty seats visible in Glendale from game to game, it’s an impressive number nonetheless – 100.
