3 Reasons Why The Arizona Cardinals Can Win The Super Bowl Next Season

The Arizona Cardinals looked like a true Super Bowl contender last season before two key injuries in the quarterback corps snuffed out their championship dreams. However, it's a new season and there's plenty to like about what this Cards team has going on for 2015. Here's 3 Reasons Why The Arizona Cardinals Can Win The Super Bowl Next Season.

1. Carson Palmer Returns

It's safe to say that the Arizona Cardinals offense didn't run nearly at peak efficiency with Palmer sidelined by a torn ACL last season. It's also safe to say that the 35-year-old is as determined as ever to prove that he's healthy enough to go the distance in 2015.

"You look at our team and our roster and the way things are built and this is the year we have to take advantage of it," Palmer said recently. "This is a year that we feel we have a good team and we don't want to sit around and talk about playing in Super Bowls and all of those things, but you look at our team, you look at the experience we have, you look at the depth we have, it's a very well-constructed roster."

Look for Palmer to put the pedal to the metal early and often, pushing the Cards offense out of the doldrums of its late season/postseason swoon last time around.

2. Defensive Firepower

A first glance at the Cards' total defense numbers in 2014 (5,891 yards allowed -- 24th in the NFL) doesn't do justice to just how clutch this defense was with its backs against the wall in 2014. Yes, they bent a lot, but they didn't break as their 18.7 points per game allowed was fifth in the league. Add in the fact that the defense was forced to keep its breath for long stretches when the offense couldn't keep itself on the field, and it was a beyond admirable effort for a unit that will have a full chance to shine in 2015.

3. Bruce Arians

One of the most respected and offbeat head coaches in the entire NFL, there's no denying the hold Arians has on the locker room. He's a master game-planner with a unique ability to accentuate positives and paper over weaknesses. Just look at all the adversity he pulled the Cards through just to get them to the playoffs last season. Ordinary coaches would have buckled. Arians is not an ordinary coach.
