BOONE, N.C. — App State wrestlers Matt Zovistoski and Codi Russell were named to the Southern Conference's preseason all-conference team Tuesday, with the Mountaineers being picked to finish second in the league during the 2019-20 season.
After being part of a three-way tie for first place last season and winning a fourth straight SoCon title, App State totaled 41 voting points. Campbell led the way with 49 voting points and received seven of eight first-place votes.
Chattanooga is third in the preseason poll with 39 points and one first-place vote, followed by The Citadel in fourth, Gardner-Webb, VMI, Davidson and league newcomer Presbyterian.
