NEW ORLEANS – App State second baseman has been named the Sun Belt Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Zamora led the Mountaineers to a 3-1 week, highlighted by a series win over No. 13 Coastal Carolina, marking the first time the Mountaineers have won a series against a top-15 opponent since the 2012 team took two games from seventh-ranked LSU on its way to setting the program wins record.
On the week, Zamora batted .556 (10-for-18) with four doubles, a triple and 10 RBIs. In Saturday's 16-8 comeback victory over the Chanticleers, Zamora belted a bases-clearing double as part of a three-hit, five-RBI performance.
