App State wrestling won a close road match against Chattanooga Sunday to remain undefeated in Southern Conference competition. The day came down to the final match as redshirt junior Michael Burchell’s timely pin lifted the Mountaineers to victory.
Following the dramatic finish, head coach JohnMark Bentley praised Burchell’s ability to close out the match.
“The whole match kind of felt like the momentum was going against us,” Bentley said. “I couldn’t be more proud of Mike Burchell, with the team depending on him, going out there and putting the team on his back.”
