BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University wrestling tied program history on Tuesday, ranking No. 23 in the nation in the USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll after taking town No. 15 Oregon State 25-15 at home on Saturday as a part of Mountaineer Duals.
The Mountaineers (2-0) jumped six places this week after the upset, now being the highest ranking member of the Southern Conference in the poll. The No. 23 rank ties the program’s highest ranking in school history, which was set in the final poll of last season. Appalachian is also only one of six schools to have at least two wins and no losses.
