BOONE, N.C. – App State women's track & field competed at the Appalachian Split Open to begin the 2020-21 season on Friday and Saturday.
In the triple jump, Peighton Simmons covered 41-8.50 (12.71m) to finish first. Her mark was just 2.25 inches shy of her PR. Djamila Petersen placed third in the event with a leap of 39-00.50 (11.90m).
Taylor Smith captured the long jump with a mark of 19-1.25 (5.82m), with Nevaeh Haddock placing second with a mark of 17-11.00 (5.46m). Smith also placed second in the 55-meter dash in 7.
