Women's Track and Field Takes First Road Trip

BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's track and field will be in action for the first time in over a month on Friday and Saturday when it travels to Johnson City, Tenn. to compete in East Tennessee State's David E. Walker Track & Field Kickoff Classic inside the ETSU/MSHA Mini-Dome.

The Mountaineers will be joined by six other teams including Alabama State, Carson-Newman, ETSU, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, and Western Carolina. Action is set to begin at 4 p.m. on Friday (women's long jump/men's weight throw) and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday (men's shot put).

Before the App State women went on its 34-day hiatus, they opened their 2015-16 indoor campaign by winning the Appalachian Open on December 4-5.
