HUNTINGTON, W.V. - Appalachian State University women's track and field turned in a first-place performance on Friday and Saturday as it won the Chipotle Marshall Invitational and did so with 110 points.
The Mountaineers won three events and turned in a top-three finisher nine times in a meet that scored 16 events total. Wake Forest came in second with with 99.5 points while homestanding Marshall rounded out the top three with a score of 92.
Darlene Girardeau won an event for the fourth time this season and did it for the first time in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.
