Women's Tennis Suffers Setback to No. 47 Ga. State

TROY, Ala. - Appalachian State University women’s tennis (4-10, 0-2 SBC) dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 47 Georgia State (9-5, 2-0 SBC) Friday afternoon at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.

GSU is the third-ranked opponent the Mountaineers have played this season, falling to then-No. 4 North Carolina and then-No. 44 Wake Forest earlier in the campaign.

The Panthers were too much for the Mountaineers while taking all three doubles matches and six singles matches.

Melissa Machado and Megan Mullen fell 6-3 to Niri Rasolomalala and Kristin Rehse before Clare Cox and Heidi Swope suffered a 6-4 setback to Tarani Kamoe and Linn Timmermann.
