CONWAY, S.C. - In the first of two Sun Belt matches this weekend, Appalachian State University women's tennis (10-6, 0-1 SBC) fell to Georgia State (9-11, 3-1 SBC) in a narrow 4-3 setback on Saturday afternoon at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
The Panthers captured both doubles matches and the three singles contests they needed for the win.
Highlighting the Mountaineers' day was Teodora Sevo and Rebecca Morse. Sevo downed Elizabet Danailova in a three-set tiebreaker, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7) for her team-leading 10th win of the season in singles action.
Morse earned a hard-fought win over Lara Vovk in straight sets but needed a tiebreaking victory in the second frame to pick up the win, 6-4, 7-6 (10-8), and improve to 9-3 on the season.
