CHARLESTON, S.C.- Appalachian State University women’s tennis (4-13) suffered a 5-2 setback at College of Charleston on Thursday afternoon at the Buccaneer Tennis Complex.
Much like yesterday, the Mountaineers claimed the doubles point with two of three matches, but couldn’t sustain the momentum in singles play where a hot CSU (7-1) squad won its seventh-straight match winning five of six singles contests.
The Buccaneers won the first doubles match with Heidi Swope and McKayla Zupan fell to Mi’Kola Cooper and Valeria Koussenkova, 6-2. App bounced back in the next two matches to go into singles with a 1-0 lead.
