BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University women’s soccer will travel to longtime rival Georgia Southern on Sunday at 1 p.m. for its final road match of the regular season as they continue to vie for tournament eligibility.
The Mountaineers (6-7-2, 1-3-2 Sun Belt) is coming off a heartbreaking double overtime 3-2 loss to Little Rock last week. Despite the loss, the team has ranked well in the conference, but will need two wins over their final three matches in to have a chance at qualifying for the Sun Belt Championship tournament.
Appalachian currently ranks fifth in shots (244), points (54), goals (19) and tied-sixth in assists (16).
