App State falls to 4-7-2 (1-3-1 SBC) while Texas State improves to 7-5-2 (3-2-1 SBC).
Facing one of the best defenses in the Sun Belt, App State couldn't get any rhythm on offense to come up with clean looks at the net, attempting seven shots with two on goal.
The Bobcats scored on an own goal as the ball deflected off an App State defender to put the hosts up 1-0.
