BURLINGTON, N.C. — App State Women's Golf topped a record-setting fall debut with even more history-making performances at the Elon Invitational, which concluded Tuesday with the Mountaineers tying for third place in a 14-team field at Alamance Country Club.
Led by freshman lefty Zoe Duval, who used an eagle on the par-5 17th hole to hold the lead with eight holes to play, finished one stroke behind the individual medalist to tie for second place, App State tied Radford for third place, finishing eight shots behind co-champions Elon and James Madison.
The Mountaineers set or matched program records in four of the most significant statistical categories:
Team record — 18 holes
Posted an 8-under 276, breaking the old record of a 3-under 285 from the final round of the 2017 Sun Belt Championship.
