BOONE, N.C. - App State women's basketball picked up a gritty 70-60 victory over UNC Asheville on Sunday afternoon at the Holmes Center.
The Mountaineers move to 2-0 for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign, while UNCA falls to 1-1.
Pre Stanley scored 19 of her game-high 25 points in the second half, including 15 in the fourth frame. The senior hit nine baskets and went 7-of-9 from the line, and added seven off the glass.
Brooke Bigott once again put forth a solid shooting effort, scoring a career-high 15 points with three of her five field goals from coming outside the arc.
