BOONE, N.C. –– Appalachian State University volleyball dropped its first match of the Black and Gold Invitational, 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-14), to UNCW on Friday evening.
The Mountaineers (2-2) were swept for just the second time in the last 42 matches dating back to the 2014 season. Emma Longley was the lone Mountaineer to finish with double-digit kills (13). Jenna Talbert finished with nine.
Olivia Loeffler led on the defensive side of things with 19 digs, while Kennedy Wilson collected 15.
