BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University volleyball is set to begin the 2017 campaign this weekend by hosting the Missouri State Maroons on Friday. The match is set to begin at 12:00 p.m from the Holmes Center.
Following the match against Missouri State, the Mountaineers will head to Wilmington, N.C. to play in the Springhill Suites Mayfaire Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The Black and Gold will square off with Davidson, UNCW and Loyola.
The Apps return nine letterwinners and four starters, including Emma Longley who earned Preseason Sun Belt All-Conference honors. Longley, a sophomore outside hitter, led the Mountaineers in kills last season with 363 kills, averaging 3.
