Van Ord Finishes in Second; WXC Take Second at HPU

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – Appalachian State University women’s cross country finished in second with 72 points at HPU’s VertCross Invitational on Friday night. The Duke Blue Devils edged out the Mountaineers by two points to take first (70 points), and Richmond landed in third (109 points). Tristin Van Ord was App’s top finisher in Kernersville, N.C.

“The ladies really pressed hard from the first kilometer,” said head coach Michael Curcio. “Our pack stayed together and really worked well in the middle lap. Emily Fedders and Natalie Kile did a wonderful job keeping as close to Tristin as they could over 6,000m.
