Boone, N.C. - Appalachian State University men's basketball led visiting ULM by seven, 87-80, with just over three minutes to play in the game. The Warhawks then went on an 11-3 run to go up 91-90 with 9.7 seconds to play and the Mountaineers had to go the length of the court. Frank Eaves missed a jumper from above the right block before Ronshad Shabazz missed a putback dunk attempt and time ran out.
Shabazz turned in a game-high 27 points to go with five rebounds, two assists and one steal, Eaves added 21, Chris Burgess had 14 and Bennett Holley tallied 13.
