BOONE, N.C.–– Appalachian State University track and field standout student-athletes Taylor Drummonds, Ryan Hastings and Tristin Van Ord earned U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors for the 2016-17 Track and Field indoor and outdoor seasons, as announced by the USTFCCCA on Friday.
To qualify for the all-academic team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and either be ranked nationally during the indoor season or participate in any round of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Drummonds earned a 4.0 cumulative GPA before graduating with a chemistry degree in May.
