NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Three members of the App State track & field program were named All-Sun Belt, the league announced on Wednesday.
Peighton Simmons earned First Team All-Sun Belt honors, while Maya Hanks and Nathan Karl were named Third Team All-Sun Belt.
Simmons won the triple jump on Saturday at the Sun Belt Championships, with a PR mark of 42-1.25 (12.83m) on her second leap of the day. Simmons is the first Mountaineer to win the outdoor triple jump since Jamie Glenn in 2013. In addition, she is the first Mountaineer to sweep both the indoor and outdoor triple jump in the same season since 2010, when Danielle Thorpe achieved the feat.
