BOONE, N.C. – App State junior Timothius Tirto Tamardi was announced Wednesday as an individual qualifier for the upcoming NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships, becoming the first golfer in school history to earn an NCAA berth.
Tamardi received the news on the same day that he finished runner-up at the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
A native of Surabaya, Indonesia, Tamardi has helped improve the Mountaineers' team since arriving in fall 2019. Last week, he tied for fifth individually at the Sun Belt Championship while leading App State to its best-ever team finish (sixth) since joining the league in 2014-15.
