BOONE, N.C. -- Former Appalachian State University women's basketball standout Maryah Sydnor concluded a stellar first season with the Hørsholm 79ers of the Dame League in Denmark.
Sydnor was the 79ers' leader in points (15.7) rebounds (8.9) and efficiency at 18.7, while ranking in the top 10 in all three categories including a top five ranking in rebounding and PER. The season she had, which included a trip to the Dame League Finals, led to a one-year contract extension for the 2017-18 season.
Hørsholm Director Peter Damm says that Sydnor's mentality and personality was vital for the club put everything in to extend the contract.
