Softball Swept by Seventh-Ranked UL Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. - Appalachian State University softball was held scoreless and gave up 14 runs on 10 hits in Sunday's series-finale loss to the No. 7 team in the nation, UL Lafayette.

With the 14-0 defeat, the Mountaineers fell to 9-40 overall and 2-19 in the Sun Belt, while the Ragin' Cajuns improved to 35-6 on the season including 16-1 in conference action. App State's one hit came from Heather Josey on a leadoff single to left field in the top of the fifth.

ULL's starter, Alex Stewart (20-3), left to a standing ovation after that hit from Josey that broke up her perfect game/no-hitter.
