CONWAY, S.C. - Appalachian State University began play in Coastal Carolina's Kickin' Chicken Classic on Friday, but dropped a pair games by scores of 11-2 in six innings against Cleveland State and 5-0 against the homestanding Chanticleers.
The Mountaineers fell to 0-7 on the season while the Vikings improved to 4-2 and Coastal Carolina was sitting at 1-5 prior to its game against Seton Hill tonight. Jenny Dodd and Katie Mathewson both had two-hit days in game one before Natalie Orcutt was the lone App with two hits in the second contest.
