BOONE, N.C. - This weekend, Appalachian State University softball will host its first Sun Belt series for the month of April when Georgia State comes up the mountain for a three-game set. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. and Sunday's first pitch in game three is set for 12 p.m.
The Mountaineers (9-33, 2-13 Sun Belt) are fighting for a berth in the conference tournament while the Panthers (21-22, 4-8 Sun Belt) are currently part of a three-way tie for sixth along with UT Arlington and Texas State. App State trails Georgia State in the all-time series, 6-2, but took one of the teams' three meetings last season.
