BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University softball will continue their five-game homestand hosting their first Sun Belt Conference opponent South Alabama for a three-game weekend series April 1-2 at the Sywassink/Lloyd Family Softball Stadium in Boone. Saturday’s doubleheader will begin a 1 p.m., and Sunday’s finale will kick off at 11 a.m.
App State (12-18, 0-6 SBC) dropped a pair to USC Upstate in Wednesday’s doubleheader, 12-1 in five innings and 4-2 in a close seventh inning battle. Cara Parker crashed out her 37th career home run and knocked in two RBI, Natalie Orcutt continued her hitting streak extending it to seven-straight games and Kenzie Longanecker registered her 80th strikeout of the season.
