MOBILE, ALA. – The App State softball team tallied its first Sun Belt win on Sunday afternoon, defeating South Alabama, 5-2. The Mountaineers are now 12-9 (1-2 SBC). The Jaguars fall to 8-16 (2-1 SBC).
App State used runs in the second, third and fourth innings to take the win. Kenzie Longanecker received the win in the circle for the Mountaineers, giving up two runs on nine hits and two walks. The senior is now 4-5 on the season.
Caylie Kifer scored the first one for the Mountaineers, reaching base on a fielder's choice.
