BOONE, N.C. — App State Football has signed wide receiver Jacoby Pinckney, a Virginia Tech transfer with family ties to the Mountaineers' program.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Pinckney attended Dorman High near Spartanburg, S.C., and officially redshirted as a true freshman at Virginia Tech in 2019. Pinckney's older brother, Brandon, played cornerback at App State from 2013-17.
Per NCAA transfer rules, Pinckney is expected to sit out the 2020 season and have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
