BOONE, N.C. – Off the insert by Florine Koopman into the circle deep into the fourth quarter, junior Jillian Orcutt saw an opportunity to score at the back post and took the pass and fired the ball past the Davidson goalkeeper to give App State (3-1) a lead that would decide today's contest.
Orcutt scored the game's lone goal with just eight minutes to play in Sunday's contest. It was a tightly contested matchup between the two teams today, but Orcutt and the Mountaineers would prevail thanks to outstanding defense and timely offense.
