NCCU Takes Two from Appalachian State Softball

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Appalachian State University softball gave up a 7-3 lead in game one before North Carolina Central walked off with a 9-7 win. NCCU took the nightcap as well by a score of 8-5.

The Mountaineers (9-45) entered Saturday with an all-time record of 10-0 against the Eagles (8-42) who ended their 2016 campaign with two wins on Senior Day inside UNC's Anderson Softball Stadium.

For the day, four App State student-athletes had at least three hits including Natalie Orcutt (5-for-8), Jenny Dodd (4-of-7), Heather Josey (4-for-9), and Megan Walker (3-of-6).
