BOONE, N.C. – A six-run first inning highlighted by junior Jack Lipson's grand slam powered App State's baseball team to a 7-5 victory over Siena. The Mountaineers stretched their win streak to five games in their first home game of the season at Jim & Bettie Smith Stadium.
After sophomore Luke Drumheller smacked a double down the right-field line with one away in the opening inning, the next four Mountaineers reached base to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Junior Andrew Greckel guided a single through the right side of the infield to score Drumheller from second, giving the Mountaineers a 1-0 lead.
