WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's tennis posted another solid weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational with four finals appearances in singles and doubles action.
App State turned in a 20-plus victories for the second time in as many tournaments, while it's also the second fall invitational in a row a Mountaineer captured a singles flight championship in María José Zacarias. The freshman finished 3-0 en route to picking up the C2 Single Flight title with two of the three wins in three sets. She defeated opponents from Wake Forest, Western Carolina and capped off the run with a straight-set triumph over Owens from Richmond.
