WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Appalachian State volleyball posted a 4-1 victory over ACC foe Wake Forest in an exhibition contest on Friday afternoon.
The two teams had agreed to play five sets prior to the match.
"I thought we played really well," said head coach Matt Ginipro. "We were able to play everyone and mix up our lineups to get some different looks."
The Mountaineers captured a tight first set 25-23 and carried the momentum into the second frame, winning the set 25-19.
Wake Forest would win the third set 25-19, but the Black and Gold came right back to grab set four by a 27-25 count.
