Mountaineers Snap Losing Streak, Down Troy 78-74

BOONE, N.C. -- Ronshad Shabazz coverted on acrobatic and-one layup with 1:14 left in the game to put Appalachian State University men's basketball up four points, helping secure the victory and snap a six-game losing streak against Troy University, 78-74.

The Mountaineers (7-20, 5-11 SBC) needed clutch free-throw shooting down the stretch yet again, as the Trojans (9-18, 4-12 SBC) forced them into their ninth game decided by six points or less. Shabazz went 3-3 in the final 1:14, while Frank Eaves went 2-4.

Leading the Mountaineers offensively was Eaves who finished with 19 points.
