BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women’s basketball will head to New Orleans as the eighth seed for the 2016 Sun Belt Championships taking place March 9-12 at Lakefront Arena.
Appalachian will face top-seeded Arkansas State on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. (ET) on ESPN3. The Black and Gold concluded the regular season with an 83-74 setback to the Red Wolves this past Saturday at the Holmes Center. A-State finished the season at 25-4 and 19-1 in league play en route to capturing the regular season championship.
The Apps clinched a spot in the tournament on Thursday after Georgia State fell to Louisiana, 65-60.
